L.I.N.D.A. is not an academic laboratory. It is living lab with operational authority over an
entire public school network a
combination that research centres with far larger budgets do not have.
Curitiba's municipal network ranked first among Brazilian
state capitals in IDEB 2025 for primary grades (6.9, with the highest SAEB
score among capitals at 6.91), and over 55% of its students attend full-time
schooling, against a national average of 22.9%.
This creates an unusual research question: what does
artificial intelligence add once the easy gains have already been captured?
With promotion rates near 99%, every further gain must come from proficiency
and from within-network equity rather than from student flow. There is very
little published evidence on educational AI operating under this ceiling effect
— which is where L.I.N.D.A.'s original contribution lies.
